I have never thought about writing as a garden, but I think in a similar manner. That even if I never get published, at least I will achieve self-improvement, and I learn a lot as I do my research.

It's a lovely metaphor, and definitely good mindset to have!

Yes, like her, I wonder how many novels I will have to write before any of them gain traction. I have only finished my first and I’m still editing. But it’s going to be a four book series. And I know that I will write additional books beyond that.

I always thought that I would be published, but I just didn’t know how many it would sell. It has potential with luck to be huge, but I always thought I’d be perfectly happy if I had a modest fan base.

But when you have a family, that much time with nothing to show for it? No money anyway… Starts to feel hard to justify all the time away from family activities.

Cicero said we need books and gardens. Everything else is a bonus

This was a nice interview. Good thoughts on time management, and the suggestion to actually go away for a bit. This is especially useful if you can disconnect - no internet enabled devices - modern technology is very much built to consume our time.

By the way, regarding the teaser pic for your new video, may I suggest you pop your eyes out even more? The amount of popping was pretty good; an admirable level of pop. But I think if you could say, double it, it would really capture the AI-driven existential crisis for writers these days lol. Just really go for it!. :-)
