I loved that LLB's answer to the first question was about returning to writing. That's where I've been most recently in my own journey, and I'm discovering so many other writers are in the same boat. Writing is a free, or at least really accessible, escape from reality and place to come home to, but at the same time, it can feel daunting. I love that LLB had a success story come out of it!
So happy to hear that part resonated with you! Writing can definitely feel daunting, but I’m glad you’ve also found a place to come home to in it. Wishing you all the best on your journey!
I often think about fan fiction and unpublishable projects when I am doing other things, but sometimes I think about my novels during all kinds of times and write down when I am home. I also get lots of ideas that I write in my notebook but don't know if or when they will turn into a novel.
Just watched your YT video and subscribed to that but couldn’t see how to drop a comment to say I really enjoyed it.
I’ve got my manuscript now and am going through another round of edits. Second book. Historical / women’s fiction.
It is about the life of the most famous Roman doctor and the woman behind him - his daughter - also a doctor. Much of it told through the woman’s perspective (or the that of future generations of women they inspired).
I’ve submitted to 5 agents, still waiting to hear back from most of them, but looking to possibly get feedback on the manuscript after this round of edits.
I wondered if you knew anything about the best courses / opportunities for this in the U.K.
Thanks so much for the subscription — I’m so glad to hear you’ve been enjoying my videos! Congratulations on completing your manuscript (sounds quite intriguing) and beginning the query process.
I don't personally know any authors who have gone through the Novelry program, but my team and I do offer developmental editing services for authors in the UK and across the world. Feel free to submit my inquiry form — I’d love to learn more about your project and see if we might be a good editorial fit!
