Happy Monday, writers!
As a Chapter Break subscriber, you have access to my weekly agent update list, where I round up profiles of literary agents who have recently opened their doors to queries. Everyone will get at least one profile; premium subscribers will get the list in full.
Perhaps youโll find someone new to add to your to-query list!
Here are 7 agents who opened to queries in the past week (November 18-24), along with information about what theyโre looking for, some of their published titles, and their query link.
Best of luck, and happy querying!

Kesia Lupo of Donald Maass Literary Agency
Kesia is building a list leaning 60/40 towards middle-grade and YA fiction, with the rest consisting of adult fiction and a smattering of adult non-fiction. She is especially but not exclusively interested in underrepresented voices, whether BIPOC, LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, disabled writers or other identities not listed here. Across all age-groups, sheโs seeking:
Fantasy/Science Fiction: High fantasy, low fantasy, cosy fantasy. Particularly interested in fantasy and SF inspired by underrepresented cultures with unique world-building. Romantasy is fine but the fantasy elements MUST be strong!
Horror: Psychological and paranormal horror in particular but will consider slashers. Love gothic horror. Generally not fazed by gory content.
Thrillers: Upmarket thrillers with a unique spin. Loves plot twists!
Historical: Open to everything with a strong hook and informed by excellent research. Would love to find non-Eurocentric historical fiction.
This week, starting Monday 18th November, she is open to writers who identify as BIPOC in YA and adult fiction across genres, plus select non-fiction categories. She will be closing on Monday 25th November.
