Happy Monday, writers!
As a Chapter Break subscriber, you have access to my weekly agent update list, where I round up profiles of literary agents who have recently opened their doors to queries. Everyone will get at least one profile; premium subscribers will get the list in full.
Perhaps you’ll find someone new to add to your to-query list!
Here are 5 agents who opened to queries in the past two weeks (October 7-20), along with information about what they’re looking for, some of their published titles, and their query link.
Best of luck, and happy querying!
Note that this newsletter is purely informational and is not an endorsement of any particular agent or agency.

Hillary Fazzari of Bradford Literary Agency
Right now, Hillary is most on the look out for:
Highly accessible, super high concept kids books in all age bands;
Select Adult upmarket/literary work that is also super high concept and feels fresh and hyper relevant; and
Very commercial books for New Adult and Adult Gen-Z and Millennial audiences that feature sticky hooks and feel like they’re doing something fun, new, and BIGGER with their genre.
In terms of material, Hillary acquires Middle Grade, YA, and New Adult in all genres (including “gap area” stories in kidlit), and in the Adult sphere, she acquires more selectively and is open to unsolicited queries in:
Rom-coms and rom-com adjacent material (especially when projects feel like they’re evolving the genre ahead!);
Horrormance (big concept and not too gruesome, please);
Romantasy and other mashups of SFF/romance (especially work that feels fresh/new and doesn’t mimic the premises of earlier books);
Commercial or upmarket speculative historical and/or gothic works with a strong appeal to women’s fiction audiences;
High concept, upmarket work that explores family/culture/history à la THE JOY LUCK CLUB; and
Very select narrative nonfiction that focuses on history or trends in literature.
